TRICARE is health insurance that's provided to members of the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is more common than one would think, and the necessity to offer treatment to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers many different treatment services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence such as detox services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People who have TRICARE will obviously need to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any type of treatment service, which may be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program could be the favored rehab option, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in this particular program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits about just how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment that may be very helpful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are professional rehabilitation counselors standing by to help today.
