Individuals who would like to maintain a certain amount of flexibility in their lives can take advantage of an outpatient rehab when they need rehab for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab allows for the rehabilitation client to participate in rehab services without the commitment you might usually have to agree to within an inpatient or residential drug rehab center. This doesn't always work in the rehabilitation client's favor however, particularly for those clients who need to solve substantial drug abuse problems. So while an outpatient rehab may seem like a convenient possibility, it isn't for everybody. Those who choose an outpatient rehab will typically take part in meetings and be a part of therapy and rehabilitation services on a part-time basis on a daily basis or a few days a week. This is helpful for many who have just completed an even more complete inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, or someone with only a brief history of drug use which is usually a very small percentage of clients. For someone with more significant addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment programs which provide rehab over a long-term basis will be the more beneficial treatment choice.
