Medicare is a type of health care insurance created by the U.S. government for older persons, along with those that have specific disabilities and diseases. If someone who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will be either covered in full by their Medicare insurance or to a great degree. The only real catch is, the person will need to obtain treatment from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to begin rehab, they will also have to visit their doctor who must state that treatment services are medically needed, and the physician will usually approve what sort of treatment the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehab providers. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center if the individual must be in a hospital for his or her issue, as well as the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab within a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
