A group home for someone who has tbeen involved with alcohol and drug abuse is a facility which provides continuous support and assistance for individuals in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled adolescents, but there's also group homes for folks with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral difficulties for example. Rather than sending those who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar facility, a group home will help provide an appropriate environment to help individuals sustain stability inside their lives and still have counsel and support within reach around the clock. Residents inside a group home could be getting involved in rehabilitation services during residence, or may be taking steps to get their life set up outside of the group home in order to at some time live on their own outside the group home. For instance, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent option, yet it's a feasible temporary option for many who want to get their lives back together.
