A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with alcohol and drug abuse is a place which provides continuous support and help for people in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled youth, but additionally, there are group homes for people with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. Rather than sending those who are being affected by drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home may help provide an acceptable environment to help sustain stability in their lives and have counsel and assistance at their fingertips around the clock. Residents in a group home could be getting involved in rehabilitation services during residence, or may be taking actions to get their life set up outside of the group home in order to at one point live independently outside the group home. For instance, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent answer, but it's a feasible short term option for those who making the effort to get their lives back together again.
