TRICARE is medical health insurance that's offered to folks in the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is much more common than one would assume, and the necessity to provide rehab to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers many different rehabilitation services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence including detox services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People with TRICARE will of course be asked to obtain a prior authorization before partaking in any type of treatment service, which is often arranged with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center is the preferred rehabilitation choice, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in such a facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits as to how much time a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which can be very useful, as it could help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert treatment counselors ready to help today.
