Individuals who would like to maintain some flexibility within their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab whenever they need rehab for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab enables the rehab client to participate in rehab services without the commitment you might normally have to consent to within an inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab facility. This doesn't always work in the rehabilitation client's favor however, particularly for those individuals who need to solve significant drug abuse problems. So while an outpatient rehab may seem like an opportune possibility, it isn't for everyone. People that do choose an outpatient rehab will generally attend meetings and take part in therapy and rehabilitation services part-time daily or several days each week. This is often helpful for individuals who have recently completed a far more comprehensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, and someone with only a brief history of substance abuse which is usually a very small number of clients. For somebody with more severe addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential drug rehab centers which provide rehabilitation over a long-term basis will probably be the more beneficial rehab choice.
