Medicare is a kind of health care insurance designed by the U.S. government for older persons, in addition to those that have specific disabilities and illnesses. When someone who has Medicare needs treatment for instances of substance abuse, their treatment will either be covered fully by their Medicare insurance or to a significant degree. The one exception is, the individual must obtain treatment from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to start rehabilitation, they will also have to see their doctor who must declare that treatment services are medically needed, and the physician will typically approve what sort of treatment the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehab services. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center if the individual has to be hospitalized for his or her problem, and the costs which they willwill have to pay for personally are identical to every other stay in a hospital. Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment in a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance or they'll have to self pay.
