TRICARE is health insurance which is provided to people in the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is much more common than one would assume, and the necessity to offer treatment to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence including detoxification services, and also treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Individuals with TRICARE will obviously be required to have a prior authorization before partaking in any kind of rehab service, which is often organized with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center will be the preferred rehabilitation option, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in this facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are particular limits regarding how much time a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which can be very beneficial, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are skilled rehabilitation counselors standing by to help today.
