A group home for somebody who has been involved in drug abuse is a place which provides continuous support and assistance for individuals in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for those with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. Rather than sending those who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar facility, a group home will help offer an acceptable environment to help maintain stability inside their lives and have counsel and assistance at their fingertips around the clock. Residents inside a group home could be getting involved in rehab services whilst in residence, or could be taking actions to get their life set up outside the group home so that they can at one point live on their own outside of the group home. For instance, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or acquire employment. A group home is certainly not a long-term or permanent solution, but it's a practical temporary option for many who are attempting to get their lives back together again.
