A group home for a person who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and help for people in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for people with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral difficulties for example. Instead of sending people who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home may help offer an appropriate environment to help maintain stability in their lives and have counsel and support at their fingertips 24/7. Residents in a group home could possibly be taking part in treatment services whilst in residence, or could possibly be taking actions to get their life set up outside of the group home to enable them to at some point live on their own outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or obtain work. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent answer, but it is a feasible temporary option for many who making the effort to get their lives back together again.
