Medicare is a form of health insurance developed by the U.S. government for seniors, along with people who have specific disabilities and sicknesses. If a person who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of substance abuse, their treatment will either be covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only exception is, the individual must receive treatment coming from an alcohol and drugs detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to commence treatment, they will also have to see their physician who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically needed, and the physician will generally approve what sort of rehab the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehab providers. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program if the individual needs to be in a hospital for his or her problem, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they're going to have to self pay.
