Individuals who want to maintain some flexibility within their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab should they need rehabilitation for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab makes it possible for the treatment client to take part in treatment services without the commitment one would usually have to consent to within an inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab facility. This doesn't always work in the rehab client's favor however, specifically those clients who need to resolve significant substance abuse problems. So while an outpatient rehab may seem like an opportune possibility, it isn't for everyone. Those that do choose an outpatient rehab will generally show up at meetings and take part in therapy and rehabilitation services part-time every day or several days per week. This can be very helpful for individuals who have recently completed a more thorough inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, or someone with only a brief history of drug abuse which is really a really small amount of clients. For an individual with more severe addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs that provide rehabilitation on a long-term basis will be the more beneficial rehab choice.
