Medicaid is a medical insurance available for individuals who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government funded insurance coverage. Whether an individual qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon income however, and individuals shouldn't presume they don't qualify because they earn a good income. For example, people who have many dependents may be entitled to Medicaid even if they make what can be described as a sensible income. Medicaid could also cover the expenses of treatment, if a person has been abusing alcohol or drugs and requires treatment. There are several drug and alcohol rehab centers which accept Medicaid, but different states have different guidelines for what forms of rehabilitation are covered. Some states only cover outpatient rehabilitation services as an example while other states cover far more intensive rehabilitation such as a residential stay in long-term drug treatment center. If someone is involved in drug use and needs help, they are able to use their Medicaid health coverage to get this help. If they don't have Medicaid and also don't have the cash or another form of health care insurance to pay for rehab, they can see if they qualify for Medicaid and then sign up for an alcohol and drug rehab program that is approved in their state.
