TRICARE is health insurance that's provided to members of the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use inside the military is more common than one would think, and the necessity to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers numerous rehab services to handle drug and alcohol dependence including detoxification services, along with treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Those that have TRICARE will obviously be asked to obtain a prior authorization before partaking in any sort of rehab service, that may be organized using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility is the preferred rehab option, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in that program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits about how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which may be very useful, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are expert treatment counselors waiting to help today.
