Medicare is a form of health insurance designed by the federal government for senior citizens, and also people with certain disabilities and diseases. If an individual who has Medicare needs rehab for instances of substance abuse, their rehab will either be covered in full by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The only real exception is, the person will have to acquire treatment coming from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to start rehabilitation, they may also have to see their physician who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically needed, and the physician will usually approve what type of treatment the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehabilitation services. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility if the individual should be in a hospital for his or her problem, and the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment in a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance or they've got to self pay.
