Individuals who wish to maintain a lot of flexibility within their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab whenever they need treatment for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab allows for the rehab client to take part in rehab services with the same commitment you might usually have to agree to within an inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation program. This doesn't always work in the treatment client's favor however, particularly for those individuals who need to address significant drug abuse problems. So although an outpatient rehab might appear to be a convenient option, it isn't for everybody. People who do choose an outpatient rehab will usually take part in meetings and be a part of therapy and rehabilitation services part-time every day or several days weekly. This is helpful for many who have just completed an even more complete inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or maintenance step, and for someone with just a short history of drug use which is really a really small number of clients. For someone with more serious addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers that provide rehab on a long-term basis will be the more advantageous rehab choice.
