Medicare is a type of health care insurance created by the U.S. government for seniors, along with those that have specific disabilities and diseases. If someone who has Medicare needs rehab for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will either be covered entirely by their Medicare insurance or to a great extent. The only exception is, the individual will have to obtain treatment from your drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to start rehab, they will also have to see their physician who must state that treatment services are medically needed, and the doctor will typically approve which kind of rehab the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of treatment services. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center if the individual must be hospitalized for problem, and the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other hospital stay. Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab in the Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance or they'll have to self pay.
