A group home for somebody who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a facility which provides continuous support and assistance for folks in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for people with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. Rather than sending people who are struggling with substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home can help offer an appropriate environment to help sustain stability within their lives and have counsel and support within reach around the clock. Residents in the group home could be getting involved in treatment services whilst in residence, or might be taking steps to get their life setup outside the group home to enable them to at some point live on their own outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or obtain work. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent solution, but it is a practical short-term option for those who making the effort to get their lives back together again.
