Dual diagnosis rehabs are programs which deliver treatment to deal with both mental health and addiction concerns at the same time. Dual diagnosis is a very prevalent circumstance for those involved with drug and alcohol abuse, as those that have mental health issues frequently self medicate with alcohol and drugs to experience some form of short-term relief from their disorder. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral treatment that helps them develop more effective coping mechanisms so that they are able to better deal with life circumstances more effectively after they leave dual diagnosis rehab as opposed to turning to drugs and alcohol as an inferior answer.
