Medicare is a form of health care insurance created by the government for older persons, and also individuals with specific disabilities and illnesses. When someone that has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehabilitation will either be covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only exception is, the individual will need to receive treatment coming from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to begin treatment, they will also have to visit their medical doctor who must state that rehab services are medically essential, and the physician will typically approve what type of rehabilitation the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehab services. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center when the individual should be in a hospital because of their issue, along with the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other hospital stay. Part B will partly cover outpatient rehabilitation in a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
