Those that have TRICARE will naturally have to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any type of rehab service, which can be organized using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility could be the favored treatment option, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in such a program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are particular limits about the length of time a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very helpful, as it could help include family members in the healing and process of recovery.
