Medicare is a kind of medical insurance developed by the federal government for older persons, in addition to people who have certain disabilities and illnesses. When someone who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehabilitation will be either covered fully by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The only real exception is, the individual must receive treatment from the alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to commence rehab, they may also have to see their medical doctor who must state that rehabilitation services are medically essential, and the physician will generally approve what type of rehabilitation the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehabilitation services. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center in the event that the individual should be in a hospital for his or her problem, and the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as any other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehabilitation within a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance or they're going to have to self pay.
