Medicaid is a type of health care insurance available for individuals who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government provided insurance coverage. Whether somebody qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon income however, and individuals shouldn't presume they don't qualify simply because they make a fair income. For instance, people who have many dependents may be eligible for Medicaid even when they earn what can be considered a fair income. Medicaid can also cover the expenses of rehabilitation, if someone has been abusing drugs or alcohol and needs treatment. There are lots of drug rehab centers which accept Medicaid, but different states have different guidelines for what types of treatment are covered. Some states only include outpatient rehabilitation services for example while other states cover more extensive rehab say for example a residential stay in long-term drug rehab facility. If a person is involved in substance abuse and desires help, they can use their Medicaid health coverage to obtain this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid plus don't have enough cash or some other form of health care insurance to pay for rehabilitation, they can determine if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in an alcohol and drug rehab center that's approved inside their state.
