Medicare is a type of medical insurance designed by the U.S. government for older persons, in addition to individuals with specific disabilities and diseases. When someone who has Medicare needs rehab for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will either be covered entirely by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The one catch is, the person must obtain treatment from the drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to start treatment, they may also have to see their primary care physician who must state that rehab services are medically needed, and the doctor will generally approve what sort of treatment the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of treatment providers. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility in the event that the individual needs to be hospitalized for problem, and the costs which they willwill have to cover personally are the same as any other hospital stay. Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
