Criminal justice client rehabs are available as a significantly better option than time in jail or heavy fines for individuals who have already been convicted of any kind of drug or alcohol related crime. For example, someone who has been found guilty of driving while impaired of drugs or alcohol may be eligible to receive rehab services for his or her problem as an alternative to serving time in prison. The judge might even order the individual receive rehab, either alone or along with other consequences. The idea behind criminal justice client rehabs is that it is much more effective and efficient to invest commitment into rehab than enforcement of other consequences. All indicators appear to be quite positive, and criminal justice clients that do take part in treatment have a much better chance of remaining out of the judicial system after rehab.
