TRICARE is medical health insurance which is provided to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is much more common than one would assume, and the need to offer rehab to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to deal with alcohol and drug dependence including detox services, in addition to rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Individuals with TRICARE will obviously need to obtain a prior approval before taking part in any sort of rehab service, which is often arranged with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center will be the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in this center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits about the length of time a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very helpful, as it could help include family members in the healing and recovery process.
