A group home for someone who has been involved in drug abuse is a facility which provides continuous support and help for people in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for people with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral difficulties for example. As opposed to sending individuals who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or any other similar place, a group home may help offer an acceptable environment to help maintain stability inside their lives and have counsel and assistance within reach 24/7. People who reside in the group home might be involved in rehabilitation services during residence, or might be taking steps to get their life setup outside the group home so that they can at some point live independently outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or obtain employment. A group home is definitely not a long-term or permanent option, but it is a viable short-term option for those who are trying to get their lives back together.
