A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a facility which provides continual support and help for people in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for those with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. As an alternative to sending those who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or any other similar facility, a group home can help offer an appropriate environment to help individuals sustain stability within their lives and have counsel and support within reach around the clock. Residents inside a group home may be involved in rehab services during residence, or may be taking measures to get their life set up outside of the group home to enable them to at some point live on their own not in the group home. By way of example, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or obtain work. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent solution, however it is a viable short term option for individuals who are attempting to get their lives back together again.
