Offering gender-specific treatment services has shown to be very helpful in circumstances where traditional rehab settings have fallen short, including dealing with situations within a women's life that happen to be unique and painful. Such concerns may have to do with sexual abuse, physical trauma, mental abuse, eating disorders, one's family members and motherhood, or other serious issues which can be specific to women. Studies show that women also can get embroiled in drug use more readily than men, and so are more vulnerable to illness because of dependency issues than males because of this.
