TRICARE is medical health insurance that's provided to members of the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the need to provide rehab to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehabilitation services to handle alcohol and drug dependence including detox services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will of course be asked to get a prior authorization before partaking in any kind of treatment service, which can be organized using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center is the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in such a program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits about how long a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which is often very beneficial, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert treatment counselors waiting to help today.
