Medicare is a type of health insurance developed by the government for older persons, in addition to those that have certain disabilities and sicknesses. If an individual that has Medicare needs rehab for instances of substance abuse, their treatment will either be covered fully by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The only real catch is, the person will need to obtain treatment from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to begin rehab, they will also have to visit their medical doctor who must declare that treatment services are medically needed, and the doctor will generally approve what type of treatment the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehab providers. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual needs to be in a hospital for his or her problem, as well as the costs that they will have to cover personally are identical to every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab inside a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance or they've got to self pay.
