Individuals who would like to maintain a certain amount of flexibility within their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab if they need rehab for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab allows for the rehabilitation client to participate in treatment services without the commitment you might ordinarily have to consent to in an inpatient or residential drug rehab facility. This doesn't always work in the treatment client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to resolve substantial substance abuse problems. So although an outpatient rehab might appear to be an opportune option, it isn't for everybody. Those who do choose an outpatient rehab will generally take part in meetings and be a part of therapy and rehabilitation services on a part-time basis every day or several days per week. This is often helpful for those who have just completed a more extensive inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, or for someone with only a brief history of drug abuse which is really a very small percentage of clients. For somebody with more significant addiction and dependency problems, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab programs which provide rehabilitation on a long-term basis will be the more advantageous rehab choice.
