Offering gender-specific rehab services has shown to be beneficial in circumstances where standard rehab facilities have not meet expectations, including coping with situations inside a women's life that happen to be distinctive and traumatic. Such issues may relate to sexual abuse, physical abuse, psychological abuse, eating disorders, one's family and motherhood, or any other serious issues which are specific to women. Research has revealed that women may also get involved in drug use more easily than men, and so are more vulnerable to sickness due to drug abuse problems than males as a result. Because of duties in the home, women also tend to put off looking for and undergoing treatment, a situation which can lead to catastrophe. With this in mind, rehabilitation services for women are created in order that a women's needs will be the concentration and priority.
