A group home for a person who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a facility which provides continual support and help for individuals in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for folks with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral difficulties for example. As opposed to sending those who are struggling with substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar facility, a group home will help offer an appropriate environment to help sustain stability in their lives and still have counsel and support at their fingertips 24/7. Residents in the group home may be getting involved in treatment services whilst in residence, or may be taking steps to get their life set up outside of the group home to enable them to at one point live on their own not in the group home. For example, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or acquire work. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent option, but it's a feasible short-term option for individuals who are attempting to get their lives back together.
