TRICARE is health insurance which is offered to people in the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is more common than one would assume, and the need to provide treatment to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers numerous treatment services to deal with drug and alcohol dependence including detoxification services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People with TRICARE will obviously be required to have a prior approval before partaking in any sort of rehab service, which may be organized using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center is the favored treatment option, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in this particular facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits as to how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which is often very helpful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are skilled rehabilitation counselors ready to help today.
