A group home for someone who has been involved in drug abuse is a place which provides continual support and help for people in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for folks with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral difficulties for example. As an alternative to sending those who are being affected by drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar facility, a group home may help provide an appropriate environment to help maintain stability within their lives and have counsel and assistance within reach around the clock. People who reside in a group home might be taking part in rehabilitation services whilst in residence, or could be taking measures to get their life setup outside of the group home in order to at some time live on their own not in the group home. For instance, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or acquire work. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent solution, however it is a practical short-term option for individuals who are trying to get their lives back together.
