A group home for somebody who has tbeen involved with alcohol and drug abuse is a facility which provides continuous support and assistance for folks in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for people with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral problems for example. As an alternative to sending individuals who are struggling with substance abuse or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar facility, a group home may help offer an acceptable environment to help maintain stability inside their lives and still have counsel and support at their fingertips 24/7. People who reside in the group home could be taking part in rehabilitation services whilst in residence, or might be taking measures to get their life setup outside the group home in order to at some time live independently outside the group home. For example, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent option, but it's a viable short-term option for individuals who are trying to get their lives back together.
