Medicare is a type of medical insurance designed by the federal government for senior citizens, along with individuals with specific disabilities and sicknesses. When someone who has Medicare needs rehab for instances of substance abuse, their treatment will be either covered completely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only exception is, the individual will need to obtain treatment coming from an alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to start treatment, they may also have to see their medical doctor who must declare that rehab services are medically essential, and the doctor will typically approve what sort of treatment the individual will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehabilitation services. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center if the individual must be hospitalized because of their problem, and also the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient rehabilitation within a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
