A group home for anyone who has been involved in drug and alcohol abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and assistance for individuals in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for individuals with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral problems for example. As opposed to sending people who are experiencing substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home may help offer an appropriate environment to help individuals sustain stability within their lives and still have counsel and assistance within reach 24/7. People who reside in the group home may be taking part in treatment services during residence, or could be taking actions to get their life set up outside the group home to be able to at some point live on their own outside the group home. By way of example, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or acquire employment. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent solution, but it is a feasible temporary option for many who want to get their lives back together again.
