Medicaid is a health care insurance available for those who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government funded insurance. Whether an individual is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon income however, and individuals shouldn't presume they don't qualify simply because they make an acceptable income. For instance, men and women who have a lot of dependents may be eligible for Medicaid even when they make an amount be considered a reasonable income. Medicaid may also cover the expense of rehabilitation, if someone has been abusing alcohol or drugs and requires treatment. There are several drug treatment centers which accept Medicaid, but various states have distinct rules for what forms of treatment are covered. Some states only cover outpatient rehabilitation services as an example while other states cover more extensive treatment such as a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug rehab center. If a person is involved with drug use and needs help, they can use their Medicaid insurance coverage to get this treatment. If they do not have Medicaid and in addition don't have the funds or another type of health care insurance to cover rehabilitation, they can determine if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation program which is approved inside their state.
