Offering gender-specific rehabilitation services has shown to be beneficial in situations where traditional rehabilitation facilities have fallen short, for example coping with situations in the women's life which can be distinctive and distressing. Such concerns may have to do with sexual abuse, physical trauma, mental abuse, eating disorders, one's family and motherhood, or another really serious issues that happen to be particular to women. Research has shown that women can also get embroiled in drug abuse more easily than men, and are more vulnerable to illness as a result of addiction problems than males as a result.
