Medicare is a form of medical health insurance created by the U.S. government for seniors, in addition to those that have specific disabilities and illnesses. When someone that has Medicare needs treatment for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will either be covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The one catch is, the person will need to receive treatment coming from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to start rehab, they will also have to visit their primary care physician who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically essential, and the physician will typically approve what sort of treatment the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehab providers. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual must be in a hospital for his or her issue, along with the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Part B will partially cover outpatient rehabilitation within a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance or they're going to have to self pay.
