Offering gender-specific rehabilitation services has proven very helpful in circumstances where conventional rehabilitation facilities have fallen short, such as dealing with situations inside a women's life that are unique and distressing. Such difficulties may pertain to sexual abuse, physical trauma, mental abuse, eating disorders, one's family and motherhood, or other serious issues which can be specific to women. Research shows that women could also get involved in drug use more easily than men, and are more vulnerable to illness due to drug abuse problems than males as a result.
