TRICARE is medical insurance that is offered to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the need to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers many different treatment services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence including detoxification services, and also treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People with TRICARE will of course need to get a prior approval before taking part in any sort of rehab service, which is often arranged with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center will be the preferred rehab option, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in this program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits regarding just how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very helpful, as it could help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are expert rehab counselors standing by to assist you today.
