Medicare is a sort of health insurance developed by the government for older folks, along with those that have certain disabilities and diseases. When someone who has Medicare needs treatment for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will either be covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a great extent. The only exception is, the individual will need to obtain treatment from the drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to start treatment, they may also have to visit their physician who must state that rehab services are medically essential, and the physician will usually approve what type of rehabilitation the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehab providers. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program in the event that the individual needs to be hospitalized because of their problem, and the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to every other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment in a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
