TRICARE is medical insurance that's provided to people in the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is more common than one would assume, and the need to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers a variety of treatment services to deal with drug and alcohol dependence like detox services, and also rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Those that have TRICARE will naturally be asked to obtain a prior approval before taking part in any sort of rehab service, which is often organized using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center will be the favored treatment option, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in this center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits about the length of time a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy that may be very helpful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are skilled treatment counselors standing by to help today.
