Offering gender-specific rehabilitation services has shown to be beneficial in situations where conventional treatment settings have fallen short, like coping with situations inside a women's life which are distinctive and distressing. Such concerns may have to do with sexual abuse, physical trauma, psychological abuse, eating disorders, one's family members and motherhood, or any other really serious issues which are particular to women. Studies show that women also can get embroiled in substance abuse more readily than men, and so are more vulnerable to sickness due to dependency issues than males because of this. Due to obligations in the home, women also tend to put off looking for and receiving care for addiction, a circumstance which can be a catalyst for disaster.
