Dual diagnosis rehabs are programs which deliver rehabilitation to handle both addiction and mental health concerns simultaneously. Providing a safe and secure setting is key so that dual diagnosis clients can feel at ease and remain free from distraction from things which could cut across their program and advancement. Treatment counselors will continue to work to recognize environmental factors in the client's life including negative people in their lives or other things that have to be addressed in order for the person to be mentally healthy and abstinen t whenever they depart dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also reap the benefits of behavioral rehabilitation which will help them develop far better coping mechanisms so that they are able to better deal with life situations well after they leave dual diagnosis rehab rather than turning to alcohol and drugs as an inferior solution.
