Offering gender-specific treatment services has shown to be worthwhile in circumstances where traditional rehab facilities have not meet expectations, like dealing with situations inside a women's life that are unique and traumatic. Such concerns may have to do with sexual abuse, physical trauma, psychological abuse, eating disorders, one's family and motherhood, or another serious issues which can be specific to women. Research has shown that women also can get embroiled in abusing drugs more easily than men, and so are more predisposed to illness as a consequence of drug abuse problems than males consequently. Due to duties in their home, women also tend to put off searching for and undergoing treatment, a circumstance which can be a catalyst for catastrophe.
